Dr. John C. Higginbotham
Director, Institute for Rural Health Research
Dr. Higginbotham currently serves as director of the Institute for Rural Health Research. Prior to his current role, he served as Senior Associate Vice President for Research & Economic Development and Chief Operating Officer at The University of Alabama. As Senior Associate VP, he served as a liaison between various colleges, research centers, and analytic facilities. Dr. Higginbotham facilitates numerous research training and development opportunities for faculty, including the opportunity for faculty to interact with government research officers. He also oversees the Research Grant Committee proposal process and the limited submissions policy.
Dr. John E. Lochman
Saxon Professor Emeritus of Psychology
Dr. Lochman is a Saxon Professor Emeritus of Psychology, was the founding Director of the Center for Prevention of Youth Behavior Problems (now Center for Youth Development & Intervention), and was the Interim Director of the Alabama Life Research Institute at The University of Alabama. His federal research funding over the past 35 years, and his over 425 publications, have primarily addressed contextual social-cognitive risk factors and intervention research for children with behavior problems.
