In 2019, the Office for Research & Economic Development announced its five-year strategic plan. The plan centers on growing and developing faculty; involving students in research; enhancing the role and impact of the Alabama Research Institutes; investing in transformative initiatives; and engaging with industry. ORED has since published its Year 1 and Year 2 Annual Reports, detailing progress made in achieving its goals.
The Office for Research & Economic Development oversees a variety of interdisciplinary units that collaborate with faculty, staff, students and external partners to catalyze, support and safeguard research and scholarship activity.
