Cognitive Neuroscientist to Lead ALRI

After a national search, a noteworthy researcher in cognitive neuroscience will lead the Alabama Life Research Institute as executive director.
The Alabama Life Research Institute (ALRI) serves as a focal point for interdisciplinary biopsychosocial research that investigates the human condition at all levels to improve lives across the world. The institute collaborates with UA centers, other institutions, health care corporations, governmental agencies, and community-based organizations.
ALRI focuses on identifying research opportunities within four themes.
An umbrella organization, ALRI contains core facilities, research centers and institutes, and an incubator for new research areas.
At ALRI, we improve the quality of people’s lives through research. We invite you to explore and share stories you’ll find here about our investigators, students and staff, and the outcomes of our research.
After a national search, a noteworthy researcher in cognitive neuroscience will lead the Alabama Life Research Institute as executive director.
Three professors specializing in biomedical sciences, biochemistry, and bioengineering will join UA, boosting research and innovation in novel design and engineering of advanced drug delivery systems.
A strategic plan launched by ALRI is the blueprint for expanding broad life science and health research on campus and strengthening The University of Alabama’s efforts to improve quality of life across the state.
