The Office for Research & Economic Development has selected three students for the 2024-2025 Early Career Research Administration Fellowship.
The yearlong fellowship is designed to expose undergraduate and graduate students to UA’s multifaceted research enterprise and offer firsthand training and mentorship in the emerging career landscape of research administration.
Selected fellows will be immersed in one of six research-focused areas: contract and grant accounting; innovation and commercialization; sponsored programs; systems, data management and reporting; research communications and web development; and research compliance.
This year’s fellows, chosen from a competitive application process, include
- OliviaPaige Beisel, a construction engineering major in the Honors College and STEM Path to MBA program. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Beisel will work with the Office for Innovation & Commercialization.
- Christian Stephens, a psychology and criminology and criminal justice double major. A native of Arlington, Tennessee, Stephens will work with the Office for Sponsored Programs.
- Maddie Waldrop, a marketing major. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Waldrop will work with the Office for Research Communications.
