The Office for Research Communications develops and implements communications and marketing strategies to promote the impact of research, scholarship, and creative activities at UA, while also generating awareness of emerging opportunities for the campus research community.

Events & Programs
We provide planning and support for several mission-critical ORED events, such as Faculty Research Day and the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Conference. We also offer guidance, publicity, and support for other ORED-affiliated events.

Web & Digital Strategy
We help manage and support ORED websites and offer expertise and guidance in content strategy, user experience, accessibility, and analytics.

We can assist in the creation of graphics and other marketing and communication pieces depending on the project’s purpose and scope.
To facilitate the design process, please be sure content is finalized and approved by all necessary parties before submitting the project request form.

Printing and Brand Approval
Research Communications does not handle print orders for departments. We will provide the design files and instructions, but you will be responsible for communicating with Printing Services. We are happy to take part in that process (being CC’d on emails, assisting with the approval of proofs, etc.), but due to shipping and payment concerns, the order will need to come from your department.
Your department will also be responsible for submitting design files to UA’s branding approval process, which may take a few days and is required for purchasing anything with UA logos and identifiers using UA funds.

Depending on the event/program, we can assist with the following:
- Planning and scheduling
- Finding a venue
- Managing cost and budget
- Finding and booking vendors and services (photography, catering, etc.)
- Promoting the event (invitations, campus calendar, digital signage, etc.)

Please request event support as early as possible, ideally at least four weeks before the event.
Before we can begin any work on an event/program, we require some basic information — and we ask that you gather this information prior to completing the project request form. No work can begin until these details are received.

- Budget (ballpark is fine)
- Single point of contact
For simple web edits, turnaround time is usually one to two business days. For more complex projects, such as creating new pages, the turnaround time may be longer — up to five business days from the time we receive the final, approved content.
Please include all the content you want to add/edit on your website in your project request. No work can begin until all content is received.
