Biography
Lauren Wilson has been a part of University of Alabama research administration for more than 18 years. She has comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in sponsored programs, research compliance, technology transfer, intellectual property protection and commercialization, negotiation of research legal and transactional agreements, and research security and export control.
She currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Research & Innovation at The University of Alabama, responsible for leading various regulatory units within the Office for Research & Economic Development in support of the University’s research mission. Oversight includes the Office for Research & Technology Agreements, Office for Innovation & Commercialization, the Office for Research Security & Export Control, Office for Research Ethics & Compliance, and the Edge Wet Labs.
In addition to her research administration responsibilities, Lauren is a member of the senior leadership team within the Office for Research & Economic Development and serves as Secretary of the University of Alabama Research Foundation. Lauren is active in national organizations and conferences specific to university research legal, regulatory, security, and administrative issues.
