Michael Arthur

Michael Arthur is the senior associate dean in University Libraries at The University of Alabama. He also represents the college as associate dean for research and associate dean for faculty affairs. Michael achieved tenure and promotion to full Professor in 2021. He earned a Bachelor of Science in sport marketing & management (1991), Master of Library Science (1999) from Indiana University, and Master of Public Administration (2006) from Old Dominion University. He is recognized as a distinguished scholar in the field of librarianship, with a research focus on optimizing the delivery of scholarly content. In recognition of his innovative contributions and sustained excellence in the library profession, Michael received the UCF Excellence in Librarianship Award from the Office of the Provost at the University of Central Florida in 2015. He was selected in 2019 to participate in the SEC Academic Leadership Development Program.
