UA-Sponsored Youth Programs
Faculty members at UA find innovative ways to introduce high school and undergraduate students to research through imaginative and creative research experiences.
These research experiences encompass a wide range of activities that include, but are not limited to, volunteer laboratory training experiences, overnight camps, day camps, weekend workshops, private or group lessons, and internship opportunities.
A youth research experience that is owned or operated by The University of Alabama, on- or off-campus, is considered a UA-Sponsored Youth Program and is subject to the requirements for UA-Sponsored Youth Programs. Any UA-Sponsored Youth Program must be registered with and approved by UA’s Office for Compliance, Ethics, and Regulatory Affairs before the program is advertised or opened to participant registration.
Requirements for UA-Sponsored Youth Programs
For a detailed list of youth program requirements, including program and participant registration, training, background checks, participant accommodations, and document retention, visit the Compliance, Ethics, and Regulatory Affairs website.
Please provide a minimum of eight (8) weeks for approval and training before accepting participant applications.
