Research News Listserv

The Research News Listserv is a tool for distributing important research-related information directly to interested faculty and staff of The University of Alabama in an efficient and timely manner. The Listserv will be used only on a limited basis and for information with broad applicability to the University’s researchers and research support staff. 

Examples of message topics for this group include major changes at common funding agencies (for example, NIH and NSF), announcements for internal limited submission competitions, training opportunities, and other internal and external announcements that are pertinent to those involved in research activities.

Any employee of the University may opt in or out of receiving emails at any time. We encourage all employees who are involved in the preparation of proposals and/or award management to join this email group.

Listserv Submissions

For your message to be distributed via the Research News Listserv, it must adhere to the listserv guidelines. Submissions must be received by Monday to be considered for the Research Opportunities newsletter.

To submit an announcement, email Keslie Fendley at kcfendley@ua.edu.

Accepted Content

  • Announcements or general reminders from UA departments that are relevant to the majority of UA researchers
  • Training opportunities, programs, and events sponsored by a UA department, division, or organization and open to all UA researchers

Content Guidelines

  • Announcements or blurbs must be fewer than 50 words and include a hyperlink to a website or email address for more information.
  • Training opportunities, programs, and events must include a link to a web page with more information. Events can be easily added to the online UA events calendar.

ResearchAdmins Listserv

The ResearchAdmins Listserv is the perfect place to ask your research administration-related questions. Participants include department and college/school administrative and budget personnel from across campus and representatives from OSP and CGA.

The Listserv is a valuable resource where you can receive feedback on the questions you ask and discover answers to questions you didn’t even know you had. It also provides an opportunity for you to share your experience and expertise, helping your Research Administration colleagues in both departmental and central offices.
