Rebecca K. Ivic

Dr. Rebecca K. Ivic is professor of health communication and associate dean of research in the College of Communication and Information Sciences at The University of Alabama. Her scholarship examines health communication, vaccines, health information, and technology’s role in shaping behaviors and engagement. She leads interdisciplinary research integrating communication theory with methods like natural language processing, network analysis, and machine learning to study digital health communication. As Associate Dean, she oversees initiatives to build research capacity, including grant support systems, seed programs, and partnerships with national centers to boost collaborative research and external funding.
