Dr. Shawn Mobbs is the Thomas D. Russell Professor of Business Administration. He joined the Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama in 2008 as a finance professor in the economics, finance and legal studies department. Dr. Mobbs earned his PhD from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the University of Georgia. His research covers topics related to corporate governance, including executive compensation, director and executive labor markets and director incentives. He has published in the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, Financial Management, and Financial Review. Before his academic career, Dr. Mobbs was an officer in the United States Air Force and held positions with the Procter & Gamble Corporation and FedEx Corporation. He holds both a Bachelor and a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
