The Research ASSIST Office focuses on the pre-award stage of extramural funding to produce high-quality grant proposals, with an emphasis on the following services:
- Project management to support the development of complex, large-scale, translational proposals of strategic importance
- Develop and maintain university-wide resources related to the identification of funding opportunities and proposal preparation
- Coordinate internal competitions related to limited submissions
- Facilitate partnership with The Implementation Group (TIG), including Pre-submission proposal reviews, Post-factum review, analysis, and resubmission
- Guidance for UA faculty and employees who are new to research
- Management of ORED internal funding programs

ORED offers internal funding opportunities to support faculty research projects.
